Using a battery that was pulled from an electric car, we reconfigured the modules that make up the battery and retrofited them onto a 14kW ebike. This project demonstrates a use case for used electric vehicle batteries and helps create a solid foundation for Metzev's business model.
Desired Outcome
A reliable, sleek, well-constructed and powerful DIY battery made from Second Life EV batteries mounted onto an ebike. We want to show that these batteries can be used for endless applications. NOTE: Customers are solely responsible for determining battery suitability for any end use.
Motorsport is an extremely expensive sport. At the entry level, getting started with racing go karts will run at least $10,000. With a switch to electric, we can drastically lower the upfront and maintenance costs of this sport, while increasing the fun. NOTE: Customers are solely responsible for determining battery suitability for any end use.
We fitted this trek mountain bike with a 72V 150A programmable electronic speed controller, our first 18S Metzev prototype battery, and a 5000W rear hub motor. The system is controlled by a sleek computer system mounted on the handlebars.
This ebike is capable of speeds up to 75mph with a 100+ mile range making it the perfect vehicle for sustainable commute. The high power components in conjunction allow for unbelievable acceleration. NOTE: Customers are solely responsible for determining battery suitability for any end use.
This electric dirtbike started as an old Razor MX650 kids dirtbike. We retrofitted a 3000W brushless BLDC Motor, 120A programmable electronic speed controller, and our same 18S Metzev prototype battery.
Just like the original dirtbike was every kids' dream, this electric dirtbike is every adults dream. Capable of speeds up to 45mph and rediculous torque, the high power system can carry an adult of any size. NOTE: Customers are solely responsible for determining battery suitability for any end use.
